Halloween Costumes...argghh

I will just spit it out! I Hate halloween and costumes!!! Call me a fuddy duddy, but I just don't like it. It costs money I don't have and takes time I'd rather spend doing something else. And it takes brain power to figure out what my four girls will be! And who cares anyway? Not me. In fact, I could do without all the candy too. Like we need it! I know half of it will mysteriously disappear next garbage day. So, it is Tuesday and Timmary has no costume and I'm starting to get stressed out about it. Oh well, I'll do what it takes to succomb to the pressures of the culture this time, with a little bit of a grudge. Mind you, I am not saying I don't love to have fun, it's just the getting ready for it I dread. I know our family will have a blast at our churches Harvest Party and that will be enough to put a smile on my face!

What's your purpose?

Ok, so I am in this parenting class, Shepherding a Child's Heart, and we talked yesterday about the purpose of our lives, which is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. So, my question for thought is are we fulfilling our purpose? Does everything I do glorify God? I'm afraid I have to confess I do not always glorify God. Not that I don't want to, but sometimes I just don't think about it enough or even just want to do things my way! Of course, this is not right. We need to be more conscious of our choices whether it is our thoughts, words or actions. There is only one way I could ever hope to do this. The answer is PRAYER! This isn't a new thought, but just a reminder. Jesus is waiting and living to intercede for us whatever our situation and wherever we are, so maybe I should include Him in everything always.

Verse for the week:

Hebrews 7:24-25 Because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them(us!).

What an awesome thought!

New Recipe!!! Artichoke Chicken

Ingredients:

4 chicken breasts
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 c. parmesan (the kind in a can)
1 c. artichoke hearts in water (drained)

Mix mayo, parmesan and artichokes together. Spray pan. Spoon mixture over chicken and bake @350 for 50-60 min. (if some in your family don't like artichoke hearts you can spoon these on top of half the chicken). YUM!
I've Arrived!!!

This is my first official blog. Thanks to my wonderful friend, Jill, I am now a blogger! Whew! The only thing is now that I have a blog, I really don't have much to say. Oh well, I know it will come to me. If you have high expectations of my blogging capacities, please lower them now. I have no idea where this will lead, but I will enjoy myself nonetheless. Ok, so now I've babbled about nothing and am getting a kink in my neck so I'll go for now...
